Me, Myself and I
Hello Everyone! My name is Heather Hanley and I am so happy to be sharing all of the wonderful things Stevenson University has to offer you. Let me start with a little about myself. I am a third year biology major at Stevenson and absolutely enjoy the major! The science department is filled with fantastic professors that are eager to help all of their students succeed and shine! I declared a year late and I would like to emphasize that it is okay to come into college not knowing what you want to major in. My advice to you is to fill your first semester schedule with a variety of courses. Take a science course to see if you enjoy that, try a psychology course to see if you enjoy it, maybe take an art or English course to see if either of those are right for you. By taking many different courses you get to test out different fields of study while still fulfilling core pre-requisites. Each major is unique in itself but I can promise you that in each department you will still find professors that are passionate about teaching and about their students!
I have lived on campus each year at the Owings Mills residence halls. This is my first year in the on-campus apartments and they are awesome! I’m sure I will be posting many pictures and videos of the fun we have in our apartment and in friend’s apartments. The suites are very accommodating and comfortable too, our residence halls are like The Hilton compared to other school’s housing facilities 
I grew up in Sparrows Point, Maryland and coming from the second smallest high school in Baltimore County I wanted to attend a smaller college as well. I enjoy the personable feeling of being in a small classroom and getting to know my professors and classmates very well. You will realize that the people in your major become a second family to you. You stay with these same people for four years and you each understand and are exposed to the same struggles and triumphs as one another. Together you grow closer.
When not studying or doing homework you can find me hanging out with friends either on campus or off. I love anything that has to do with water: jet skiing, boating, fishing and getting TAN I am obsessed with Grey’s Anatomy, Desperate Housewives and Sex and The City! You will find me and a bunch of my friends huddled around the televsion at 9pm on Thursdays to catch the latest episode of Grey’s!
