National Aquarium in Baltimore

There are so many fun things to do outside of Stevenson, including the National Aquarium in Baltimore located at the Inner Harbor, about a 30 minute commute. I went with my family a few weekends ago and had a blast! I even got to be the volunteer dolphin trainer and was able to give the dolphin a signal to perform a trick and then praise her by petting her belly!!! She felt very smooth and slippery, like wet rubber. It was very exciting!! Enjoy the pictures!!!

My roommate and I went to Applebee’s this past weekend. I have never been and it was pretty good, similar to a Friday’s or Ruby Tuesdays. We got a lot of food for a fair price which is always a good thing (in my mind). We ordered the two for $20 and were able to get one appetizer and two entrees for only $20!

There was a pretty good variety of entrees to choose from and about four appetizers you could choose. We ordered onion rings and then I got some sort of chicken pasta and my roommate ordered zesty lime chicken. She enjoyed her dish and I enjoyed mine. We left feeling very satisfied!

I am not sure if there is one closer but we went to the Applebee’s on Padonia Road, about a 20 minute drive. Now typically I would not drive that far for Applebee’s, I could settle for Friday’s right down the road, but we happened to be in the area and decided to stop.

Hagerstown Outlets November 9, 2008

Hagerstown is a small town located in Washington County about an hour and a half drive from Owings Mills (depending on your speed). It’s a really nice town with that small town vibe. I had the pleasure of going up there this weekend to see my best friend’s younger brother play for the Men’s Soccer State Semi-Finals at North High in Hagerstown. Let me tell you, the stadium was amazing! It was like I was at a college campus stadium!! Unfortunately, they lost and we were all pretty disappointed. But afterwards, some friends and I went to the Hagerstown Outlets located about 15 minutes from the high school and probably about an hour and 15 minutes from Owings Mills. The outlets are HUGE!! There are so many stores with so many great sales. To name a few, we went in Adidas, Nike, Pac Sun, Cosmetics Company, Tommy Hilfiger, Rack Room Shoes and Coach. There was also an Ann Taylor, Gap, Zales and many more! When we went into the Coach store I fell in LOVE with this purse. My boyfriend came in a few minutes later and as soon as he saw me standing there with the purse he said, “I knew I shouldn’t have come in here.” I convinced him to buy it for me for Christmas. We were getting a great deal, it was originally a $400 purse on sale for only $145!!! That’s amazing! I also got a great deal in Rack Room Shoes. I was able to get a pair of Sperry boaters shoes for only $55 when they are originally $75. Outlets are great but the only downfall is that all purchases made at outlets stores can only be returned to the store location at the outlet, not any store location. It’s fine if you live around the outlets but when they are over an hour away it’s kind of a bummer. But I am happy with my purchases so I shouldn’t have a problem. I suggest that everyone go and visit the Hagerstown Outlets. I guarantee you will not leave there without finding something you like, there’s just so much to choose from!

Jason’s Woods!

So some friends and I went to Jason’s Woods in Lancaster, PA last night. Let’s start with the drive..my friend has a GPS and we plugged the address in thinking no problem..well just about every road there was extremely dark and extremely windy! We felt like the only car on the road for miles. Even with the high beams on it was difficult to see. We were always stretching our heads to try and see over the hill in case there was an animal or something..also secretly hoping to see lights of civilization. Of course this scary ride only hyped us up more for the haunted house. Once we arrived at around 9:30pm we were soo glad we had purchased our tickets online. The ticket line there was crazzzyyy..we would have been waiting in line for over an hour. But since we had already purchased the tickets we were able to get right in line for the first event. The first part of the night we went through a dark maze where you literally could not see in front of you, it was a common theme of the night. A hand on the wall was necessary to prevent you from running into things and to find your way through. Of course scary characters jumped out at you and there were loud, sudden noises and creepy laughing..pretty scary. We then got on a haunted hayride. The theme of the hayride was “Wrong Turn” with the creep in-bred people who enjoy cannibalism. Very scary because they liked to jump on the wagon and particularly seemed to like to pick on me. I mostly kept my head buried haha. The nexy part of the haunted night we entered the haunted barn. Another pitch dark place where we even needed to crawl on our hands and knees to get through one part..very creepy. The final part was the 3D-pirate house. We were given 3-D glasses and had to walk through this area where again masked characters jumped out to scare you. The worst is when they turn on the strobe light and the next thing you know Michael Myers is in your face…yeah bad experience! All in all it was a lot of fun and would recommend it to anyone as long as they don’t mind a long. creepy drive and a little waiting in line :)

Happy Halloween!!
