Posted by heatherhanley in : Ordinary Life of an SU Student , trackbackOk, so this evening while watching Brothers & Sisters, a great show on Abc..I recommend it to anyone, I had started the dishwasher. During a commercial break I noticed the dishwasher was making a funny noise. I went over to investigate, thinking something was placed in the rack wrong and causing that thing on the bottom of the dishwasher not to spin (you can tell I know a whole lot about appliances). I opened it, moved a pan around and looked carefully at the bottom of the dishwasher. I saw a disk shaped form that looked like a piece of paper stuck on the bottom of the machine. Thinking that I better remove it I stuck my hand under the bottom rack to grab this what I though was paper and my hand grazed the hot wire on the bottom of the machine! I screamed and pulled my hand out cursing at the machine. My skin had immediately crisped and looked cracked. It hurt so bad. I began to run it under cold water but that made it feel worse. The burn is about an inch in length and is in the most awkward place, it’s located on the side of my hand underneath my pinky finger. It is pretty much impossible to bend my hand which is going to make it a real pain in the butt to blow dry and straighten my hair in the morning. Moral of the story..beware of the hot wire on the bottom of the dishwasher!

Ouch indeed!!!! I hope your hand starts to feel better soon! Maybe you should go check in with Nurse Pam at the Wellness Center for some aloe or neosporin??
lol I was there and witnessed the incident, very painful looking indeed!
